                          TIMOFEJ’S DREAMS

Timofej is a red fluffy cat. He lives in a big flat. There are five rooms there: a living-room, a study, a big nice kitchen and two bed-rooms. There is also a bathroom, a pantry and a large balcony.      Timofej likes his flat very much. He often walks about the flat. But his favourite room is certainly the kitchen. He likes to watch how the family eats. And he likes to eat meals himself. But most of all he likes to watch how mum makes meals. Timofej wants to make meals himself. He comes to the kitchen and says “Meow! Can I help you, mum?”  “No way,” answers mum. “Sit still and watch!”

Mum doesn‟t let anybody in the family cook. She enjoys cooking herself. And everybody in the family enjoys eating her meals. They are so tasty, especially porridge which she cooks for breakfast. Everybody in the family thanks her after breakfast every morning, even Timofej comes to thank mum.   “It was really tasty,” he says sometimes. Though he usually says, “It was delicious.”          Timofej dreams that one day mum will come and say to him that his porridge was delicious too even more delicious than porridge she cooks. And she will thank him. And everybody in the family will come to thank him, because Timofej will cook something nice for breakfast. It is usually porridge in his dream. And there is a big piece of yellow butter in it.

Timofej likes butter very much. So mum always gives him a piece of butter with porridge. She goes to the shop and buys a huge piece of butter and puts it into a fridge. And she tells everybody about it. So Timofej knows where butter comes from. He even knows that at first people milk cows and make butter. And only then other people sell it in a shop.
Timofej dreams that one day he will go to buy butter himself. He will go to the shop with mum at first, because he doesn‟t know where the shop is. But he can learn. He is a very clever cat. He can learn fast. So later he can go to the shop himself. And mum will stay at home and rest. And she will thank Tima for choosing nice yellow butter.

And sometimes Tima thinks that he even can milk a cow himself. It‟s his dream too.
And he dreams about making butter, because it‟s very interesting to make it, especially when it‟s yellow butter. And it‟s interesting to sell butter in a shop. Timofej dreams about it too, because it‟s such a nice dream. And he certainly dreams some secret dreams in the kitchen, because kitchen is the place where everyone in the family shares his or her personal secrets with others. And Tima knows all family secrets. So he understands he must dream about family secrets only in the kitchen.

He dreams that one day he will have a secret too. And he will share his secret with the family. And everyone will say it is the most exciting family secret they„ve ever heard. But currently Timofej doesn‟t have any secret, at least an exciting one. So he only dreams about it.
These are his kitchen dreams. He dreams them only in the kitchen. But he never dreams his kitchen dreams in other rooms.

There are other dreams which he dreams there. Timofej has different dreams: a living room dreams, a study dreams, a bathroom dreams and other room dreams.
When the family goes to work, Timofej usually leaves the kitchen. He goes to the living room first.       It‟s large and cosy. There is his favourite leather sofa and two leather armchairs. Tima can lie on all of them. They all are so soft and comfortable. It‟s nice to sleep on them in the day time.       Timofej likes both the sofa and the armchairs. But he can‟t lie simultaneously on both armchairs and the sofa. So he dreams that one day he will manage it. Why not?
A living room is a very good place for dreams, especially when everybody in the family is at work. Nobody watches TV then. Nobody plays computer games. Nobody talks. So Tima can dream in silence. Living room dreams are very special. They are more special then kitchen dreams. Kitchen dreams are very simple, when they are not about secrets. But living room dreams are never simple. They are more useful for the family. And Tima cares about the family very much. So in the living room he dreams about a new large modern TV on the wall. Dad wants it so much. But he can‟t afford it. He doesn‟t earn enough money for a new large modern TV on the wall. Tima knows it because dad explains it every evening, “I can‟t afford a new large modern TV on the wall, I must buy a new country-house first”. Dad earns money for a country-house now. So Timofej dreams that he will earn money for a new large modern TV himself. Why not? Who else will? Everybody is busy with his or her own business. Only Tima doesn‟t have his business yet. Though he thinks about it every day, that is, dreams…
Tima wants to help dad. Dad is so kind to him. When dad comes back home tired and rests on the sofa he always lets Timofej stay there too. And he lets Timofej sit in his armchair when he watches TV.       Of course, Timofej can stay on the carpet when everybody watches TV, but nobody in the family sits there. They sit only on the sofa and on the two armchairs. So why should Timofej sit on the carpet? And dad understands it and never pushes Timofej from the armchair. So they sit next to each other and watch a film together. That‟s why Timofej dreams about helping dad to earn money. He dreams about becoming a businessman. He dreams about different businesses. One day Timofej dreams about a construction business. The next day Timofej dreams about a hotel business. And sometimes he dreams about an entertainment business, because Timofej watches a lot of films about entertainment and understands this business well. Entertainment business is the most amusing one. And Tima likes to amuse his family. So he dreams he will manage it easily. He dreams he will be a very successful movie-maker or an outdoor presenter or an amusement park owner, though hotel business is very attractive for Tima too. Sometimes he dreams he is a hotelowner. A respectful hotel-owner and there are lots of holidaymakers at his expensive luxury hotel.      It‟s nice to be a hotel-owner. But there are other owners in the world: a land-owner, a bank-owner, an ATM-owner and a pet-owner. So Tima can choose what kind of owner he will be one day. Owners own their own things and even enterprises. Owners must be very responsible. And Tima is a responsible person, so he will certainly be a good owner. He will manage it.
Timofej is very good at management. So, may be, it‟s better to be a manager: an enterprise manager or an exhibition manager or a department manager. And there are also other managers in the world. Tima dreams he would manage to choose between different managers. It‟s important, for managers earn a lot of money especially top-managers.
Timofej dreams that he will earn a whole bowl of money. Timofej thinks dad will be very happy and thankful. And the whole family will be very happy and thankful too, because everybody in the family is happy and thankful when dad brings a whole wallet of money. And Timofej can earn much more. Timofej can earn even a whole basket of money, or a whole bucket of money. Or even, a suitcase.
Then the family will be thankful to him even more than to dad for a wallet of money, which he regularly brings home.

Though in Tim‟s opinion business is not only about making money. It‟s about being useful to the world, at least to some part of it. So there is one nice soft dream about business which he likes very much. Tima is sure that it is the most useful business. Besides, Tima believes that it‟s very profitable. Tima wants to breed sheep. First of all Tima knows how tasty sheep cheese is. So he can produce it and sell it all over the world, or at least in some parts of the world.  Secondly sheep are wonderful animals. Someone can think they are the silliest animals in the world. But they are not. They are not silly at all. They are nice and smart.
They are even smarter than other animals. Besides they are very fluffy. Just like him or even fluffier. So he can understand how to deal with them. Tima thinks sheep are the best animals in the world. They are extremely useful. They help people to have warm fluffy sweaters. Tima dreams he shaves his sheep and knits woolen things. This is the most attractive part of a sheep business, that is, knitting.  Mum says woolen things are so warm. She says everybody needs it. So everybody will buy woolen things Tima knits. So he can have lots of buyers all over the world. Mum says it‟s necessary to wear woolen things in winter. Winter is so cold. And woolen things are so warm, that everybody will be happy. Tima thinks spring and autumn are also cold sometimes, though they are mostly cool. Anyway it‟s nice to have warm things when it‟s cool too. And woolen things are always warm. So everybody can be very pleased wearing natural woolen things in spring and autumn.
Tima will knit woolen sweaters, woolen socks, woolen scarves, woolen stockings, woolen hats, woolen gloves and woolen mittens. They all are so soft and warm. Of course Tima likes socks, mittens and scarves more than other items. He often watches mum knitting them for the family. That is why Tima thinks them the most important woolen items. Mum knits sweaters too. But she does it seldom, in winter mostly. So sweaters can be knitted in winter mostly and on a few wonderful occasions when someone wants a warm woolen sweater for a present.

Tima enjoys almost every part of his dream about his sheep business. But there is one part which he finds hard. Tima is not experienced in grazing. So when he starts to graze his sheep and turns away even for a minute the sheep immediately run away. Tima can not understand why they are so disobedient. Smart, kind, wonderful sheep escape.
It happens every time when he starts to graze them. Tima doesn‟t know how to control them. He can not deal with it yet. He can not prevent them from running away. He can only watch some of them at a distance, on the faraway mountain tops. And he doesn‟t guess where the other sheep are. So he has to go and look for them. And he is absolutely sure that there is someone else looking for them at the same time. And this someone else is not kind and wonderful. It is someone greedy and unfair. It is someone who wants to get Tima‟s sheep. It is someone who likes sheep very much. Perhaps that greedy person heard something about the useful profitable sheep business. Perhaps it wants to make sheep cheese too. Perhaps it enjoys knitting and dreams to knit socks, scarves, stockings, hats, gloves and mittens. Or may be, it dreams about knitting only sweaters: fine warm fluffy sweaters in winter.     Anyway Tima is not pleased with its behavior. He disapproves of it. He doesn‟t want anyone to take away his sheep, even if that person is fluffy. And that person is fluffy. Actually, it‟s a wolf. It is always a wolf who tries to steal Tima‟s sheep in the mountains. Of course Tima tries to be the first to find his sheep. He loves his sheep: Noisy, Naughty, Funny, Fine, Brave, Small, Tall, Happy, Silly, Bad, Big, and others. He knows all their names.  He calls them loudly. He calls them by their first names: Noisy, Naughty, Funny, Fine, Brave, Small, Tall, Happy, Silly, Bad, Big, and others.. But it doesn‟t help.      Noisy, Naughty, Funny, Fine, Brave, Small, Tall, Happy, Silly, Bad, Big, and others don‟t hear him. They eat grass on the faraway tops and don‟t guess there is someone else who is trying to steal them.       And sometimes this someone else steals more sheep than Tima finds. So Tima often has less. Of course usually it‟s Tima who finds more sheep. Then Tima is very happy. He brings them back to the barn and counts: Noisy, Naughty, Funny, Fine, Brave, Small, Shy, Sly, Tall, Happy, Silly, Bad, Big, Fat, Lucky and others. And if some sheep are missing, that is stay in the wolf‟s barn, Tima goes back to the mountains again. He hopes some sheep can escape and get lost.
Of course it‟s not easy and frankly speaking a bit scary to go there. So Tima motivates himself. He sings a special motivating song “Call your sheep! Call your sheep! Hungry wolf doesn‟t sleep!”      He sings it twice and if it doesn‟t help, that is, doesn‟t make him motivated, he adds a few lines more “Big or Small, Bad or Kind, Hungry wolf doesn‟t mind!” Tima reminds himself the names of his sheep and the wolf‟s indifference. It usually helps to become determined to find the lost sheep. At least it does encourage him to continue the search. Though sometimes Tima fails to rescue all his sheep. Then Tima thinks that the wolf is happier than him. He thinks the wolf is already knitting a sweater. In this case Tima prefers to stop dreaming about a sheep business for a while and think about some other living room dreams. Fortunately there are plenty of them. So he chooses the most important ones: about a country-side house, about a faraway island, about a family voyage to a distant place, about cultural cruises or about being a crew member on a luxury yacht.

One more important living room dream is about cars. Tim usually dreams about Mercedes. He knows this brand car very well. He often goes on trips with dad and mum. That is, they often take him with them. Dad says Mercedes is very comfortable. But mum doesn‟t agree with him. She says, “I don‟t agree with you.” “I do!” says Tima to support dad, because Mercedes is comfortable in his opinion too.      “We must buy another car,” says mum several times when they drive somewhere.      “I don‟t agree with you,” says Timofej. But mum ignores him completely, though dad doesn‟t. “Even Tima understands Mercedes is a good car,” dad says to mum. And Timofej supports him again, “I do, I do!”

“Tima is only a cat,” says mum “He doesn‟t understand much about cars.”      “I don‟t agree with you,” says Timofej. But mum ignores his words again. “We must buy Audi instead,” she goes on.

So Timofej thinks about Audi sometimes. He doesn‟t dream about Audi, because he can‟t dream about Audi. To tell you the truth Timofej never saw Audi in his life. So he is not sure he must dream about it. But then he sees Mercedes regularly. He has a lot of experience with Mercedes. So he often dreams about it for himself.      “If only it was a bit smaller,” Tima dreams.  “One day it will,” he dreams. “Or if it won‟t I will grow as big as dad. And I will manage to drive it. It looks easy.”      “But now I need a smaller car.” Here he starts dreaming about Audi for a while. “What if Audi is much smaller in size than Mercedes?” Timofej thinks. And he dreams about Audi fora while again. And then he remembers that he must support dad and starts to dream about a tiny Mercedes, just his cat‟s size.            Timofej dreams about driving in a Mercedes to his office. Tima knows what an office is, because he often visits offices. Everybody in the family has an office. Dad has an office and mum has an office and Tim‟s brother has an office. Only Tima doesn‟t. So he dreams to have one,      “My office must be large,” says Timofej to himself. “It must not be tiny. Only a car must be tiny. But an office must be large. It‟s not comfortable to work in a tiny office.” And Tima wants to work.       “So my office must be large,” Tima dreams.

Then it‟s time to have lunch. And Tima goes back to the kitchen. And he dreams about being a family cook again. That is cooking porridges. Sometimes he even tries to prepare something for the family. He goes to the cupboard and opens it and gets all necessary plates and a couple of bowls and a spoon and a tea-spoon. Then he puts all these objects on the kitchen table and on the cooker. He gets all necessary provision, remembering about a piece of yellow butter. And then Timofej mixes everything thoroughly in the bigger bowl.

Only it‟s his small secret. Not a big deal, so he never shares this secret with the family, because Timofej hasn‟t got any achievement yet. That is, he hasn‟t learnt to cook well. He only experiments, has some experience, so to say. He only tries.
But his porridge is not tasty. At least he thinks so. May be mum and dad will find it tasty. But what if they won‟t? Tima isn‟t sure yet. So he quickly cleans the cooker and washes plates and bowls in which he experiments.
“But one day I will succeed. I will manage. I will make nice porridge,” he says to himself. So he experiments every day. He watches his mum in the morning and does exactly like she does. But the result is always different. That is, “Awful”. That‟s exactly what Timofej thinks when he tries his meals.        “Awful as usual,” he admits to himself.      “But it may be better tomorrow. I may improve next time,” he supports himself. “One must be patient with himself,” he remembers somebody‟s saying and goes back to the living room.

Living room is a room where he can rest after kitchen activity. Everybody in the family rests there. So he rests there too. This time just a bit. But he doesn‟t dream there twice a day. He has so many rooms where he should dream every day. So he goes to another room to dream. He usually chooses the study after.
The study is also his favourite room. Timofej likes the study. Everybody in the family likes the study, because everybody in the family likes to study. Timofej likes to study too. He likes to study in the study. Everybody in the family likes to study in the study. Nobody studies in the pantry, for example.       Timofej doesn‟t know why nobody studies in the pantry, but he knows nobody does it. So he doesn‟t study in the pantry either. He studies only in the study. A nice family tradition: each room for some certain activity. A kitchen for eating and sharing small secrets, a bed-room is for sleeping, a living-room is for rest and sharing all important secrets and a study is for study. Tima studies a lot of things. Everybody in the family does. So why shouldn‟t he? He thinks it‟s one more family tradition. And Tima likes to keep family traditions. So he studies different things. Timofej is ashamed he can‟t read. So sometimes he dreams to learn to read.
But most of the time he dreams other dreams, because nobody in the family dreams about learning to read. They all can read. Actually they all read very well. Only Timofej doesn‟t. So usually he studies the pictures. He learns a lot from the pictures. Pictures can tell much. At least they tell much to Tima. Tima looks at the pictures attentively. He studies the details attentively. And then he dreams about some other details to the pictures.
Tima has some favourite books in the study. These books are about Mercedes-Benz cars and about trips. But his most favourite book is about cooking, of course, because there are the most colourful pictures there. And the pictures in the book about Mercedes-Benz cars are not colourful. They are black and white pictures. And Timofej prefers colourful ones. They are more enjoyable. And the food there is more enjoyable too: sausages and cottage cheese pies and grilled chickens and thick pancakes and aubergine salad and salmon sandwiches and onion soup and baked pies and cabbage pies and shrimps salad and cucumbers with soured cream and chocolate ice-cream …It takes a couple of hours just to look through one book. And there are several of them on the shelves of the huge book-case.      When Tima looks at those pictures he studies them more attentively than black and white ones, because he tries to understand how to cook better. So he studies all the details in the pictures. But he doesn‟t dream about sausages and cottage cheese pies and grilled chickens in the study. He doesn‟t dream about other meals too, because these are kitchen dreams. And the study dreams are different.

The study dreams are about study. And they are also about writing books one day. Or about drawing pictures for the books or about studying something new, may be bank and credit cards, because Timofej doesn‟t know much about bank or credit cards. And everybody in the family does. Everybody in the family is very good at credit or at bank cards. Only Tima isn‟t. So he wants to study them very well or may be, even to make such credit or bank cards himself.

Timofej dreams that one day he will have so many bank and credit cards that he will even distribute these cards in the streets. And then everyone will respect him, because everyone respects people who have bank cards or credit cards. And everybody respects people who have good credit history, at least, his brother does. So Timofej dreams about having a good credit history too. He heard it‟s important, especially when you want to buy Audi.

Dad doesn‟t have a good credit history. He has an awful credit history, so he can‟t buy Audi on credit. Mum doesn‟t respect his credit history. She can‟t buy her favourite Audi on dad‟s credit. But may be, she will buy it on Timofej‟s credit, if he has a good credit history one day. So Tima often dreams about it. And meanwhile he studies bank cards and all other cards which he discovers in the study.
And he studies guitars there, because Timofej dreams about playing the guitar. His brother can play and Tima can‟t. So why not to study? Tima doesn‟t only dream about it. He tries to understand what or who produces the melody. So he touches all parts of the guitar and looks inside, because Tima suspects there can be somebody who produces such good melodies.
He watches attentively but nobody looks out of the guitar, at least, when Tima watches.
But Tima suspects he or they do peep out from there when he doesn‟t watch. Timofej dreams to see those tiny persons who live in the guitar and make sounds. It‟s one of his favourite study dreams.       Timofej understands that he can‟t produce good melody himself. He tried many times. But he produced so awful sounds that even he became scared. But when his brother plays the guitar, that is, produces different melodies, that is, lets somebody in the guitar produce them, the melodies are never awful. They are pleasant and attractive. So when brother starts to play the guitar it always attracts Tima. Timofej dreams to attract everybody in the family with pleasant melodies too. He trains himself to produce good melodies, that is, find somebody who lives inside and persuade them to help. He often persuades this unknown somebody to get out of the guitar. “I promise not to do you any harm,” Timofej says. But there is no answer. “I promise to be polite and considerate,” he goes on. Still no answer. “I promise not to bother you very often.” “I promise to drive you in my Mercedes.” Timofej promises a lot of different things. But it doesn‟t help. So he tries one more time. He says his favourite promise, because it always works with him when mum addresses him. “I promise to treat you with some delicious food,” he purrs expecting to hear clapping of hands or an ordinary “Hi!” But still no reply.
Timofej pulls the strings one by one, producing awful sounds, which he doesn‟t like.
He expects somebody in the guitar to ask him to stop it. But this somebody in the guitar is very patient, and he or they are very brave, because they are not afraid of awful sounds. They are not scared. But Tima is. So he stops pulling the strings and starts shaking the guitar. He hopes to shake out this somebody one day. May be he even will shake out a whole team of them. But currently he can‟t. Shaking doesn‟t help. Anyway it is amusing to shake it. And it is amusing to pull the strings and it is amusing to make some sounds even the scary ones. They are in general very amusing too.

But it‟s time to go to the pantry, a room with the widest selection of provision. Tima enjoys going there every day. He doesn‟t want to miss his pantry dreams. And he can‟t dream them in another room. So he moves to the pantry and sits on a small folding round chair. Timofej prefers armchairs, of course. But there are no armchairs in the pantry. Armchairs are only in the living room and the study. And there is no sofa either, there is only a folding chair.
Sofas are in the living room, in the kitchen and in the balcony. Mum doesn‟t guess there should be a sofa in the pantry too. She doesn‟t guess it‟s more comfortable to dream on the sofa than on the folding chair. May be, she never dreams in the pantry. And dad doesn‟t. And the brother doesn‟t either. Otherwise they would have guessed to put a sofa or a couple of armchairs in the pantry. So Tima‟s first pantry dream is about a sofa or a couple of armchairs. Timofej believes that one day somebody else in the family will start dreaming in the pantry and will guess about necessity of a sofa or a couple of armchairs there. But currently nobody guesses, only Tima does. So he keeps on dreaming. Other pantry dreams are about winter. Mum always talks about winter when she goes to the pantry. So, why Tima shouldn‟t?  So he does. “Everything will seem delicious in winter,” Timofej starts to repeat mum‟s words. Though, he isn‟t sure. But mum never tells lies. So Timofej trusts her, and he trusts her opinion. So he tries to persuade himself repeating mum‟s favourite pantry phrase again and again, “Everything will seem delicious in winter”. By and by he starts to believe it more, because he persuades himself every day, that is, during his pantry dreaming. He usually starts his dreams from that phrase. It helps to start to dream then. It‟s not so easy to believe that tomatoes or cucumbers in a jar or other pantry provision will become delicious in winter.
Tima doubts it when he looks at the many jars in the pantry. There are jars with different jams and barrels with salty tomatoes and bottles of wine from some famous vineyards. Though the family seldom drinks wine only on great celebrations. But Tima doesn‟t want to drink it even on great celebrations. And he doesn‟t want to try salty tomatoes from the barrels or different jams. They are not attractive to him. And they are not delicious in his opinion either. But one day that is one day in winter they will, because mum says it.  So Timofej dreams about winter. He dreams how the family will enjoy the provision and how he will enjoy it together with the family, because Timofej often dreams that he will sit at the table just as anybody else. So his pantry dreams are how he will enjoy a salty tomato or a salty cucumber or a tomato from a jar or a spoon of jam. Tima imagines how he bites off a salty cucumber. It‟s the hardest part of the dream. But Timofej never misses it. He dreams it every day, because the next dream is based on the result of this one
His next dream is how the whole family approves his choice of food in winter. Everybody is happy Tim sits at the table and shares the same meals. Everything is delicious in winter. These are his pantry dreams. Somebody may think it‟s very similar to kitchen dreams. But Tima thinks they are different because they are not about meals they are about winter choices and winter tastes mostly.

All small family secrets are usually discussed in the kitchen. And the family news are discussed there too. Some educational and business matters are discussed in the study from time to time. And important secrets, Sunday entertainments or celebrations are generally discussed in the living-room. Tima is allowed to all those rooms any time. But there are rooms where Tima is not invited and not welcomed. These are his parents‟ bed-room and their apartment balcony garden. Tima is not allowed to come into these two rooms. Of course nobody says “Shoo!”  “Scat!” or “Get out!” The parents are well-bread and too polite. But they shake their fingers at him warning it‟s not his territory. They, that is mum, doesn‟t approve of his fur in those rooms. Actually she doesn‟t like his fur at all: it‟s so thick and fluffy. And mum vacuum-cleans and washes those rooms regularly.
And she airs those rooms a lot. The other rooms are in charge of dad and Tim‟s elder brother. And they don‟t vacuum clean the rest of the flat so often and they don‟t mind his thick fur too much. Only mum does.

She explains that fluffy cats leave lots of fur and being fluffy is a disadvantage.  Frankly speaking she is fluffy herself. No wonder Tim is so fluffy. And his fur is so red. And mum‟s hair is red too. It is exactly as red as Tim‟s fur. So they are both red and fluffy. No wonder Tima often thinks how to turn the disadvantage into an advantage. He thinks he can use his fluffy tail for cleaning the flat. In fact his tail has an advantage before the vacuum-cleaner. He can wave his tail sideways and the vacuumcleaner can‟t. Mum has to pull it from one corner to another, but she doesn‟t need to pull Timofej. He can pull himself, that is make himself go to different corners. And mum can rest meanwhile. But she doesn‟t rest with the vacuum-cleaner, because it doesn‟t move itself.
Mum has to spend her spare time pulling it everywhere. And she doesn‟t have too much spare time. She is usually busy. And Tima isn‟t. But then he can‟t pull the vacuum-cleaner. It‟s too heavy for him.       Sometimes Tima thinks that he needs a smaller vacuumcleaner, may be, even a tiny one, the one which is easy to pull. Though why do they prefer a vacuum-cleaner to his tail Timofej doesn‟t understand. A vacuum-cleaner or a good fluffy cat‟s tail, what‟s the difference? Timofej can‟t understand the parents about their preference. He doesn‟t approve their choice. That is why sometimes he starts dreaming about other choice of his parents. That is his tail. Then he understands it‟s not a big deal a tail or a vacuumcleaner. So he stops dreaming about his tail. And he stops thinking about a vacuum-cleaner. Why should he? It‟s an idle dream, not a useful one. It doesn‟t make a great change in the  family if they will use Tima‟s tail for vacuum-cleaning. That is if he will use his tail for those purposes instead. He may help mum in the rooms otherwise.

But anyway Tima goes to those forbidden territories when parents are not at home. Tima likes to dream there very much, especially in the parents‟ bed-room. It‟s so cosy and large. Tima dreams that one day the parents will change their bedroom for the kids room where he stays with his elder brother. They(that is, he - Timofej and his elder brother) share one room. And in Tima‟s opinion the kids room is so small and modest. There‟s only one bed, a ward-robe, a writing-table and a corner of the room which is a modern gym, which they also share, because Tima needs gym as much as his elder brother. They both spend there a lot of time. So Timofej even has some gym dreams. But they usually come together with the kids room dreams. There are also two leather armchairs in their mutual room and a basket where Tima sleeps at night. It “stands for” his bed, but it‟s not a real bed, so Tima dreams an extra dream. He dreams to have his own real bed.
The two armchairs are for the brother‟s friends. They sit there when they visit Tima‟s brother. So there‟s hardly any place for Tima‟s regular walks when there are guests. The kids room is really packed sometimes. In other words, it is regularly crowded. One can‟t walk there at such days. Everybody tries to pick him up and to touch him gently or to hold him like a baby, to squeeze him and to stroke. And what is the most amazing thing; the fur doesn‟t interfere with anyone. On the contrary they like his fur. Only mum is stubborn about his fur. She doesn‟t want to vacuum clean it in the balcony hot-house and in the bedroom.

One of Tima‟s most exciting dreams is about catching a mouse. But there aren‟t any mice in the flat. Tima dreams there can be one, a nice tiny mouse. He dreams about it very often, almost every day. Sometimes he dreams about catching a mouse two times a day or even three times a day. He dreams about catching a mouse in details.
Tima imagines how surprised his family can be one day. A nice tiny mouse can be a surprise for everybody. And Tima will
be very glad when they are surprised. In general his dream mouse is very attractive with a tiny nose and cheerful eyes.
And the mouse should have a tiny joyful tail. It‟s easy to catch someone with a tail. And it‟s not easy to catch someone without a tail. So a tail is a very useful thing when one is catching someone else. Tima knows it from his own experience. Several years ago his elder brother used to catch him by the tail. And Tima even dreamt he‟d better be a tailless person, just like everybody else in the family. But now that he has discovered the advantages of having a tail, Tima dreams that they all, that is, everyone in his family would have a tail, just like him. Because he cares for everyone so much that he can‟t miss dreaming about them having tails. He knows dreams can come true. He believes there are no idle dreams. And he spends his free time, that is, his leisure for dreaming. Especially he cares about his dream about them having similar tails one day. It‟s important to have a tail. A tail helps in many cases. It‟s a very useful part of a person. And tailless persons lack some sufficient experience in life. Tima is happy he doesn‟t experience that lack. But he is not very happy, because they do.
So one day when his dream about tails comes true he will be happier. And they will be happier too. The whole family will feel happier. And Tima dreams about that time even though they all are quite happy now.
His kids room dreams are the most limited ones. Because they are mostly about him and the elder brother moving to mum and dad‟s bed-room and mum and dad moving to his and his elder brother‟s kids room.

But there are gym dreams which occur in a special corner called gym. And this corner is in one of the corners of the room of the kids room. And opposite to the kids room dreams these gym dreams are not limited at all, though actually they occur in the same space.  Timofej‟s gym dreams are about him becoming much stronger. Tima dreams about having more sport equipment for cats. Actually there is only one suitable thing for his sport activity. And that is a rope, a thick long rope which he climbs every day, while his elder brother has a variety of equipments. And the rope is only part of it. The elder brother doesn‟t climb it often. He has a lot of other things to use. It takes him almost two hours every evening to use all equipment when he trains in the gym. While it takes Tim only two minutes to climb up and down the rope.

Certainly Tima usually climbs several times, because it‟s not interesting to sit still and watch while somebody else trains in the gym. So Tima prefers his sport activity at the same time with his elder brother.  And the only sport activity available to him in the gym is climbing up and down the rope. So he does it. And since it takes him only two minutes to climb up and down the rope, Tima often does it many times, a couple of hours generally, because he doesn‟t want to miss a chance to make himself fit. Why should he? His brother doesn‟t miss. But it‟s not so exciting to climb up and down the rope for a couple of hours regularly, so Tima often dreams about another sport activity. Sometimes he even dreams about a variety of sport activities. But it seemed that nobody in the family dreams about a variety of sport activities for Tima. Only Tima does,The rest of the family even doesn‟t guess about his gym dreams. They only joke about his sport activity, that is, about his climbing up and down the rope.
They make fun of Timofej saying that he may become a great climber one day.
But it isn‟t funny. Tima really may become a climber one day. He may become an outstanding climber, because he thinks he is already a great climber. And he needs some sport achievements, so he should become an outstanding sportsman. So Tima often dreams about it. He dreams he will climb high mountains and his parents and brother will see it. And then they will stop joking about him climbing up and down the rope for a couple of hours. They will be surprised and very proud because they will have somebody outstanding in the family, a catclimber, an outstanding person. And they may even watch him on the TV. There are a lot of programmes about outstanding personalities on the TV. Why shouldn‟t there be one about Timofej?
Timofej likes this dream very much. It‟s one of his favourite gym dreams: a programme about an outstanding climber which airs every evening. That is, a programme about him, Timofej which airs every evening. And then the whole family will watch it together with him. They will watch it every evening. They will watch it with pleasure. And they will wait for or will be looking for the evening to watch it.  Then the whole family will be really ashamed they teased him about his climbing up and down the rope. And they will ask Tima to forgive them. And Tima will
certainly forgive them at once, because he loves them very much. He just doesn‟t want them to tease him and to make fun of him discussing his rope sport activity, the only one available for him currently.
And then dad and his elder brother will take him to the modern sport store.
They will go to the store with the widest selection of fashionable sports equipment of his favourite brands. And they will choose a variety of sport equipment for cats. And dad will pay using his new credit card. Here Tima starts to think if he should change that particular detail, that is, dad paying using Tima‟s credit card. Tima is not quite sure whose credit card to use. But Tima doesn‟t want to ask anybody about it. He doesn‟t want somebody‟s advices to change his dreams. So in some gym dreams it‟s dad who pays. In other gym dreams Tima pays using his own credit card. And sometimes, though very seldom Tima lets his elder brother to pay for the sport equipment. That‟s also very fair, for the equipment will be installed in their kids room.
To be more exact the equipment will be installed in the gym which is a part of the kids room. So they both can use it: he, Timofej and his elder brother. Though it‟s hard to imagine how his brother will manage it, for it‟s a special cats equipment bought in the cats department of a sport store. But Tima doesn‟t want to dream about how his brother will manage it, because his brother may dream about it himself, while Tima has other dreams to dream. It‟s impossible to miss them. These are achievement dreams. Tima enjoys achievement dreams. They are included into his gym dreams, the most exciting part of them. Achievement dreams are about taking part in the Olympics. So they are the most exciting gym dreams. Tima has some sport achievements already. Of course, these sport achievements are his dream achievements. They are included into his Olympics dreams. And since they are so pleasant Tima dreams them more often than other gym dreams. He dreams them in the afternoon and in the evening. So he also calls them his afternoon gym dreams and evening gym dreams.
Though there are other afternoon dreams, a wide selection of afternoon dreams. But there are only few evening dreams. In the evening when the whole family comes back home there‟s not too much time for dreams, so Timofej includes only some of his dream achievements into his evening dreams. The rest of the time in the evening he communicates with his family. After all, almost all his dreams are devoted to the improvements in the family. Even his dream achievements are for making his parents and his elder brother be proud of him and pleased with him. And they are very pleased when he stays with them and follows them from room to room(except the apartment balcony garden and the bed-room) and watches TV with them and sits on their laps and side by side with everybody. The whole family is so happy then. That is worth of limiting evening dreams to his Olympic achievements only.
